Patient Empowerment

Empowering patients and the community on heart disease and other non-communicable diseases by conducting monthly awareness programs.  The Consultant Physician of the hospital delivers community talks on the last Tuesday of every month.


 

Student Scholarships

The objective of this program is to provide a financial assistance to the school children in Wellawaya area, whose parents have died due to kidney diseases and those who are still suffering from the disease, to continue their education. Each child will be given Rs. 3000/- per month up to  GCE Ordinary Level (up to Year 11) and GCE Advanced Level (up to Year 13)  students will be given Rs. 5000/- per month.  This program commenced in February 2020 and is currently active and has donated Rs. 941,000.00 in total to eleven children so far. Each child has received between Rs. 24,000 and Rs. 117,000 depending on the time in the program. 

Financial assistance is provided by doctors and philanthropists in the area to implement this scholarship program.

"Weda Jana Kathikawa" a dialogue between the community and specialists of Sri Lanka College of Internal Medicine, to empower the community on the prevention of Non-Communivable diseases
